At least six terrorists were killed and four others wounded during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) performed by security forces in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district, reported the military’s media wing on Friday.
The operation took place during the night of April 23 to April 24 following reports of militant presence in the area. “Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Bannu district about the reported presence of KHWARIJ,” Inter-Services PR-Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
According to ISPR, an intense exchange of fire occurred in which six militants were killed and four other injuries.
After the operation, a sanitization effort was launched to ensure that the area was completely cleared of remaining threats. “Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eliminate the threat of terrorism from the country,” the statement added.
The operation is part of the ongoing nationwide efforts to counter militant activity and maintain stability in residual regions.
