Six members of a family died on Friday when a vehicle they traveled in, wriggled out of the Neelum Valley Road while negotiating a sharp turn near Chilyana village in AJK and threw hundreds of feet under, media reports.
The accident took place on the right bank of the Neelum River, approx. 50 kilometers northeast of AJK Capital Muzaffarabad, a report quoted Neelum Valley District Disaster Management Officer Akhtar Ayoub, as I said.
“It rolled down the mountain slope, but just stopped shortly after entering the river; otherwise it would have been swept away by the violent stream,” Ayoub said.
