Of course Skate is one of the most expected upcoming matches of 2025, probably due to the fact that the last post came out 15 years ago.
Things have changed quite a bit with the latest Skate game. First, it is now a free-to-game game that is scheduled for early access before a full release. There will be regular seasonal updates before and after the right launch, including new map areas, new trick mechanics and fresh cosmetics. To get in on Skate Early access is a way to play the game early as it develops. You can give feedback and look in real time when improvements are made.

Skate Early Access -Release Date
Skate Early access is released September 16, 2025. This is the next available opportunity to play the game and even better it is completely free to play. We will hopefully get some more details about specific release timing in the next few weeks. When the news arrives I will be sure to update this section.
Skate Early Access Platforms – where can I play?
You can play Skate On PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and PC. For PC players, it’s via Steam/Epic Games Launcher or via the EA app. It is worth noting that skate is also scheduled for iOS and Android devices, but at a later date and not during the launch of early access.
How to Play Skate Early Access
To play Skate Early access, just download the game and log in to your selected platform. There is no advance price and it will be available from your choice of store. Presignment has not been confirmed yet, so stay up to date on updates.
If you signed up for Skate Insiders by June 27, 2025, you will now receive an invitation to early access, which means you can jump in right away. However, registrations are now closed.
What is included in skate early access?

Skate Early access is not the final version of the game, and as such has some features that are missing from launch. There is still a decent amount to play through when it comes out on September 16. Here are the main highlights:
- San Vansterdam Map: 4 headquarters to skate through.
- Licensed Sound Track: A collection of curated songs to be played while sailing in town. This will be expanded with future updates.
- Multiplayer: Solo games or play with friends in either mission -based challenges or quick drop.
- Character customization: Boards, clothes, hats and accessories.
- Creation: Build new spots by placing the taxable quick drop objects in real time. Create your own challenges and participate in Smid all over the city.
- Replay Editor: Catch your biggest tricks, slams and moments on movies with Replay Editor, then share them with society.

It’s the next big entry in Skate Series, but is it is your own thing, considering that it is a free-to-game game that is first launched in early access. Coming skate to Nintendo Switch 2?
No, Skate is not currently scheduled for Nintendo Switch 2. It is not listed under available platforms, although this may change in the future.
Are skate on mobile devices?
Skate Launched on iOS and Android later in the year after the early access release on PS5, PS4, XSX | S, Xbox One and PC. No one has been specified yet.
How much does skate cost?
Skate is free, although it contains microtransactions in the game. It is a free-to-game game with optional shopping options for cosmetic items and a match called Skate Pass. This ice skating has both a free reward track and a prize paid.
