Pittsburgh Steelers waited until the sixth round to choose a quarterback in April’s NFL Draft. But after drawing up the former Ohio State -quarterback Will Howard, Steelers Quarterback room was still more questions than answers.
This week, Pittsburgh seems to have found a short -term solution to its signal call problems. The four-time NFL MVP accepted a one-year contract, Steelers confirmed. The 41-year-old Quarterback is expected to participate in the team’s mandatory mini stamp next week.
While the signing was met with both praise and criticism, Skip Bayless made his feelings over the Steelers decision clear.

In a video sent to its social media platform, Baysless Rodgers characterized as a “Diva” and suggested that veteran -quarterback had not much left in the tank.
“He was washed his last three years in Green Bay,” Bayless said. “Look at the number of his last three playoffs in Green Bay … I told Jets he was washed.”

Bayless then offered a word game in which he claimed that Rodgers would “steal from Steelers.”

A confused Bayless then asked the state for the stored franchise. “What has become of Pittsburgh Steelers?” he continued. “I don’t hate them anymore. I have pity with them.”
Steelers ended last season with a 10-7 record. LongTime head coach Mike Tomlin has never finished a regular season with a losing record. Baltimore Ravens in the wild card-round loss to Baltimore Ravens in January.

Justin Fields started the first five matches in Steelers’ 2024 campaign before Russell Wilson took over. Fields signed with Jets earlier this season, while Wilson landed with New York Giants.
Rodgers have not taken a team for the playoffs since leaving Green Bay. January 2022 marked Rodgers’ last fall period. Packers suffered a 13-10 loss in the divisional round of this game.
After suffering a season ending injury in the first game of the 2023 season, Rodgers appeared in all 17 games in 2024. He ended the year with 3,897 passing yards and 28 touchdowns against 11 captures.
After spending the 2024 season with Tennessee Titans, Steelers brought back Mason Rudolph. Skylar Thompson was also on the guard schedule, but none of the quarterback was considered the primary starter that came in 2025.
