Cam Newton, a one -time NFL MVP, delivered a blunt message to Shedsur Sanders at his podcast earlier this week after the drama around College Star’s draft slide.

Cleveland Browns chose Sanders in the fifth round of the draft Saturday. Sanders was expected to be a top five choice at the earliest.

Newton theorized at the “4th & 1” podcast, which is why Sanders fell and offered advice to the young quarterback, who now has to move up Browns’ depth cards to get a starting point.

“Skyeseur Sanders, this message is addressed to you,” Newton said. “Lead with work, not threat. I think he took on the persona of a db (defensive back), not a qb. As a db you are able to do certain things. You can speak out loud and be rambunctious and have the bravado. As a quarterback, reminder, you are CEO of this franchise.

“You have what I have labeled, Super Six that you have to pander to. No. 1, the owner, No. 2, General Manager, No. 3, Head coach, No. 4, Position Coach, No. 5, Players and also No. 6, Fans.”

Newton predicted that Sanders would start with Browns the upcoming season.

“This is the best situation for Shedeur because he has to get to the top,” said the former Carolina Panthers star. “Does he have the ability to do it? Absolutely. And if I’m in his camp, I tell him as ‘bro, let’s get to work. Let’s check what we can control now.’ I see that rinsing Sanders begins for Cleveland Browns at one point this year.
