Cleveland Brown’s Rookie Shedeur Sanders responded to recent comments from former NFL coach and current ESPN Pundit Rex Ryan on Thursday.
Last week, Ryan Sanders condemned for his behavior during a segment on the network’s “Get Up” show.
“This boy runs my mouth like ‘I got could be a starting quarterback,’ with his arms crossed like this. Get your A- in the front row and studies and do all that. If I know, the whole league,” Ryan said of Sanders. “Stop being an embarrassment that way. You got the talent to be a quarterback. You have to be embarrassed that you’re not quarterback now.”

Sanders responded to the criticism while talking to journalists after Thursday’s practice.
“He’s just trying to start something,” Sanders said.
“We don’t have any negativity from now on. We don’t. I’m just here to be positive and I’m not talking about anything negative. That’s the new way, that’s what we’re going on. Something negative, we’re not talking about it, we’re not talking about it.”

Sanders turned to the public response to an incident last week when journalists asked him about his response to teammate and colleague -Rookie Dillon Gabriel, who was named the team’s starting quarterback, and Sanders responded by mouthing words without saying anything.
“I’m not guessing that everyone likes playing all the time,” Sanders said. “So it’s to understand how to be at all times and keep my personality a little leaner, I assume. Because not everyone understands it at all times and you may not have a full time to be able to explain things.”
After the team traded away veteran quarterback Joe Flacco this week, Brown’s head coach Kevin Stefanski did not confirm that Sanders would move up to the second strict place behind Gabriel for Sunday’s match against Pittsburgh Steelers. Stefanski told journalists he would “let the week play out” before deciding between Sanders and Exercise Team Quarterback Bailey Zappe.

Sanders said he sees a “light at the end of the tunnel” in terms of the situation.
“I’m generally in a big mental space,” Sanders said. “So I would say you tend to get a little more excited when you see a light at the end of the tunnel, definitely. … Whatever my role is here, I’m grateful. I’m glad just to do it.”
