Refresh
I am still stuck in login-limbo with The Slack at Desktop, and this occurs in accordance with what Slack has reported on its status page. As such, it seems that problems will continue for some people, while others appear to have gained full functional slack access.
Here is a new update from Slack:
“We identified the cause of the problem and continue to monitor our health meals, but we are still not fully resolved. Some users may still reproduce symptoms, such as problems that are loading their work areas. Our work is still in the process of recovering affected backend services to return functionality to affected functions.”
And Slack has apologized for the ongoing problems:
“No further news to share yet, but we are focused on getting things back to normal as soon as we can. We apologize for the continued problems.”
My boss Marc McLaren has returned in the Desktop version of Slack. I am still stuck in the limbo …
Still no joy on desktop login for me on slack. SUKK.
Another update from Slack:
“We are still investigating the cause of the problem and working to restore functionality to affected functions such as workflows, send messages, threads and API-related features. Users can also continue to experience problems when trying to log in. We provide new information as soon as they are available.”
I’m not the only one without anyone slack desktop access as my colleague Mackenzie Frazier is also in the same boat, and I think a few others are too. But with communication a little strange, it’s hard to tell.
Another update from Slack’s status page and it reads pretty much the same as before:
“We are still actively investigating this problem, but we do not have any new information to share at this time. Thank you for keeping us with us as we continue to work towards a solution. We will keep you updated as soon as we have an update.”
This is all I see when I try to log on to Slack. To get annoying now.
Still nothing desktop slap login for me. Pretty sure I don’t do anything weird at my end …
According to DownDetector, there were also power cuts at Amazon Web Services, Instagram Microsoft Copilot, among others. Now it is unclear whether these are related, but many services use AWS for their cloud platform, so if it went down, it could be the core of these power breaks.
Going after slack’s status page does not look like everything has been ironed yet:
“We are still working to restore functionality to affected relaxing features such as sending messages, workflows, threads and other API-related features. We are back with multiple updates as soon as they are available.”
My colleagues report that they have access to Slack on Desktop on both Windows and MacOS.
But I had to restart my MacBook and let me out fully logged out and seem to fight to authenticate me through my Google Workspaces account. Mildly frustrating, I must say.
However, emoji reactions on messages do not appear to be working. Hardly an important part of slack, but an indication that things could be a bit buggy too little when slack comes back up to speed.
No official word from Slack’s status page that it’s up again. But it seems that we are coming to the end of this power outage. Although these could be famous last words, so to speak.
But my mobile version of Slack is now fine.
According to Desire and Josie, Slack is back for both of them … I’m not so lucky.
However, the desktop app and browser version of Slack still throws up ‘Trouble Loading Your Workspace’ messages.
Oh hang for a moment … Both colleague CEO Editor Josie Watson and I have been able to send messages on the Slack app, so this may be a sign that the power outage is affecting.
So I can still see my relaxing messages in the mobile app on my iPhone 16 Pro Max, but I can’t send any new ones that you could expect with the fall in operation that is still in effect. Still, it is convenient to check the status of the work as a snapshot before downtime.
For what it is worth, I’m a fan of the Slack app on iOS. It’s near, works well and feels decently integrated with Apple’s mobile platform.
Another post from Slack:
“Our study is still underway in terms of outdated functionality for relaxing features such as workflows, threads, sending messages and API-related features. We are back with multiple updates as soon as they are available.”
It seems that the reports of relaxing power cuts at Downetector have reached a highlight. So either people have accepted that Slack is out or the service is on its way to improvement and maybe soon up … We’ll see.
Here’s the latest update from Slack:
“We continue our efforts to restore functionality to affected features such as workflows, send messages, threads and API-related features. Users may also experience problems when trying to log in. We appreciate your continued patience. More updates will be shared as soon as possible.”
And some more by desire:
A fairly regular event
Over the past four years, Slack has had at least one large power outage every single year. We had one in January 2021one in February 2022At March 2022 and July 2022 And the last one was in July 2023.
So the popular business communication platform is not immune to downtime, and the fact that it continues to happen is to worry about saying it mildly.
Wondering how fast I get sick of seeing the picture below? Slack is still Bork for me.
Thanks to the magic of cloud -based software, I have some insights from Desire Athow, CEO editor of Techradar Pro, on the state of slack games and what the power break means for businesses.
“Here’s how we are doing. Slack is a single failure for a whole organization when it went down a few minutes ago was my first thought, what have we as an alternative?” he writes.
“Slack is where all real -time communication occurs within tens of thousands of companies including. At the time of writing, DownDetector Has thousands of occurrences of interruption reported over the past three hours and rises. “
I don’t see if I feel pretty zen from the lack of slack review dings, or if I feel pretty isolated; The latter is probably down to me who also listens to an atmospheric sci-fi sound track while I am writing.
On its service status page, Slack has sent the following:
“We are still working to restore functionality to affected relaxing features such as sending messages, workflows, threads and other API-related features. Users may also experience problems when trying to log in. Thanks for your continued patience as we continue to investigate. We will follow up with further updates when they become available.”
So we’re back to a pretty old school communication in the form of E -mail and collaboration in Google Docs. No bad thing as Google’s G Suite is a pretty robust set of tools. Likewise, this is not exactly optimal.
Usually when power cuts happen, they do not always affect us directly on Techradar. But we all use Slack to collaborate externally and across several countries and continents.
So this is a power outage, I feel really direct; I can’t quickly contact my colleagues in the US, which is a pain when there is a big Amazon product event going on.
Just got an E email from Future Publishing’s (the company that owns Techradar) IT department that Slack is down everywhere.
Ok now he just told me his slack is down. So yes, this is not good for remote cooperation.
But this power outage does not seem to affect everyone as my boss Marc McLaren reports that his slack still works … How weird.
Yes, so slack is definitely down and I fly a little blind without easy contact with my colleagues.
