Rawalpindi:
Significant progress has been reported in the investigation of the honorary killing of the 21-year-old Sidra, which took place in Rawalpindis Pirwadhai-Police Station’s Jurisdiction.
A Rawal Pindi -Police Team has been sent to Muzaffarabad to verify Sidra’s alleged marriage with her second husband, Usman. His family will also formally be included in the investigation and their statements will be registered.
According to police sources, the investigative team, led by Under Inspector Shoaib Ahmed, left to Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir. Their primary goal is to confirm the alleged marriage to Sidra with Usman, get official documentation of the marriage and record statements from Usman and members of his family.
Meanwhile, seven suspects remain in the case, including Ismatullah, Ziaur Rehman, Arab Yellow, Amani Yellow, Zafarullah, Saleh Muhammad and Rickshaw driver Khayal Muhammad, in police custody on physical custody. Two other suspects, digging vigor Rashid Mehmood and Cemetery Committee Secretary Saifur Rehman, have been sent to jail on court decision.
Police have also taken possession of DVR for CCTV cameras from Ismatullah’s house and have initiated the process of decoding its content. However, officials have been exposed to technical challenges in decoding the unit, which has led to the hiring of technical experts. Investigators are particularly interested in recordings that are recorded between 11 and 17 July and during the period immediately after the incident.
So far, the investigation has led to recovery of the Rickshaw loader used to transport Sidra’s body, burial tools and other key certificates. However, the pillow assumed to have been used in the murder has not yet been regained.
