Information Technology (IT) experts on an official board have declared smart watches, fitness trackers and other portable smart devices such as cyber security threat and recommended for the government to ban such objects in sensitive places.
National Telecom and Information Technology Security Board have sent an advisor to the cabinet department and warned that portable smart devices are a security risk as these devices have been used to reveal confidential information.
The use of these devices in sensitive places can lead to cyberattacks, data leaks and tracking, says the counseling.
