Snoop Dogg has responded to criticism from fans following his performance at Donald Trump’s ‘Crypto Ball,’ a pro-Trump pre-inauguration event held Friday in Washington, DC
The event, which was attended by celebrities and politicians such as House Speaker Mike Johnson, celebrated Trump’s support for cryptocurrency and his plans to integrate digital assets into the US financial system.
According to Daily Mailfans took to social media to accuse the rapper of hypocrisy, citing his past opposition to Trump, including a 2017 music video in which Snoop targeted a Trump-like clown character.
Regarding this, one user wrote: “2Pac was always right about Snoop Dogg playing both sides for a check”, while others vowed to boycott his music.
Additionally, Snoop responded with a retweeted Instagram story from fellow artist Rick Ross, adding, “Got a real crip up in the Crypto Ball, bang bang.”
According to the publication, videos from the event showed Snoop flashing a peace sign and singing along to Bob Marley’s Three little birdswhich signals his indifference to the criticism.
Additionally, the exclusive four-hour event, with tickets ranging from $2,500 to $5,000, featured performances by Soulja Boy, Nelly and Rick Ross along with Snoop Dogg.
Attendees received red hats emblazoned with “Make Bitcoin Great Again” as part of the celebration, according to the outlet.
Additionally, influencer Bo Loudin praised Snoop’s performance, sharing a photo of the rapper wearing a ‘Make America Great Again’ hat and writing, “President Trump is uniting the country and bringing us into the GOLDEN AGE! Welcome to MAGA, Snoop!”
