Solana’s searching phone resolves sagas missing with ease of use

The Solana search phone is not your average smartphone, nor will it be. Builds on lessons from its predecessor, the saga, Solana Mobile’s latest device genimagine what a crypto-native phone can be. Less, lighter and boast of a prolonged battery compared to its predecessor, the seeker aims to improve the user experience while doubling on mobile-first crypto-user friendliness.

Out of the box, it is clear who this device is for: Active Solana users who regularly act on chain, with the design focusing on all crypto-first. With 150,000 phones pre-ordered from over 50 countries, and at a cost point of $ 500, the seeker wants to bring Solana-Ecosystem participants the opportunity to shop on the go in seconds.

If you are someone who often uses Solana, the searcher may feel like it was built specifically for you. However, this phone is not intended for the relaxed crypto user.

“If you are someone who acts at least once a week, frankly, you may not be a full of power user, but at least you are a regular user who is looking for sense,” Emmett Hollyer, general manager of Solana Mobile, told Coindesk in an interview.

One of the biggest criticism of the saga was that it went a little too far to focus on the security aspect at the expense of ease of use. “We learned that we were so focused on building a safe experience for the first time that we kind of came out of our own way of ease of use,” Hollyer said.

Security is still there; Each device acts as a wallet that is always on-chain, but the process of signing transactions has been significantly streamlined. Now, with only a single click and a fingerprint confirmation, a user can approve a transaction that marks a noticeable change from the multiple steps required, making trade on the go to feel much more natural.

Specifications

According to a slide tire shared by Solana Mobile, the searching phone is delivered with 8GB of RAM, 128 GB for storage, a 6.36 inch screen and a 4500 mAh battery, which should be enough to place it somewhere between an Apple iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus on paper in the form of size.

It uses an octa-core Mediatek Dimensity 7300 processor, which is somewhat less powerful than a flagship phone from Apple or Samsung, but is largely in line with Exynos 1580, Chip Powering Samsung’s medium-sized A56 smartphone. The phone is running on Android 15.

A review unit did not Come with a headphone jack and an SD card castle for expandable storage.

The device also has four cameras; Three on the back (108 megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization, a 50 MP telephone sensor and a 13 MP Ultrable) and one on the front (32 MP).

Seed vault wallet, id, token

The core of the searcher is the seed vault that protects your private cryptotasts with encryption and biometric access. Building on top of it is Solana Mobile’s Seed Vault Tevebog, which is integrated with the seed vault and acts as Apple Pay, allowing users to approve and verify their transactions. And like Apple Pay, it has a tap-to-pay feature.

“It does all that a regular crypto -tektog does, including it allows you to connect to [decentralized applications] Dapps and access your funds everywhere. It is just built more mobile -nod, directly into the phone and the dapps that are in our store, ”Hollyer added.

The wallet supports all major Solana diapers and comes with a recovery seed -phrase, as well as other cold wallets. This continuity of the Crypto Hardware experience ensures that users retain self-insurance, even if they lose the device.

In addition to the hardware layer phones on a new kind of digital identity. At setup, each user gets a Genesis token and a unique searching ID that permanently binds the device to the user.

The phone also has a unique Skr -Token, a new token to the ecosystem that is not live yet. While the project’s developers have not shared many details yet about how the token will work, the team wrote that it will “run the economy, incentives and ownership of the ecosystem.”

User experience

Although I am loyal to my iPhone, the searcher felt easy enough to navigate to those who were not used to an Android device. Jumping around from apps was trouble -free without an unclear experience. The phone has options for downloading mainstream apps from the Google App Store, and can allegedly allow for cell connection (this phone did not deliver with a SIM).

Although I couldn’t fully test mobile connection, the interface was surprisingly smooth and responsive without any noticeable delay or awkward UI hiccup. For anyone who is hesitant to change ecosystems, the searcher offers a well -known enough experience that does not let you feel lost.

The search season is coming in September

To get the participants to actively use the device, Solana Mobile Momentum builds through her search season, which is being launched in September, which the developers claim to bring exclusive features, early access and benefits of DAPPs participating in Solana Dapp large ecosystem.

“Each week, new DAPPs introduce special experiences, early access and benefits that you only find in the Solana Dapp store,” according to a sliding deck shared by the team. These exclusives provide incentives for early adoption of the phone.

The sale of the original saga phone was sluggish at first until crypto traders discovered that each unit came with a hefty air drop of Bonk -Tokens, triggered a hurry to buy remaining devices and transform the phone into a short arbitrage option.

Solana seeking is an ambitious and thought -provoking reimagination of what a mobile crypto experience should be. It is not only more compact and user -friendly, it is designed to bring self -defense into everyday life with minimal friction. Where Saga tried to prove a point, Seeking invites users to participate.
