Eight militants were killed and a soldier was martyrated during several intelligence-based operations (IBOs) performed by security forces over Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing said on Monday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations targeting suspected suspected terror elements in North Waziristan, South Waziristan, Khyber and Bannu districts.
In the MIR Ali area of North Waziristan, three militants were killed when troops “effectively engaged” their location. In a separate operation in South Waziristan, two more militant neutralized.
During the exchange of fire, Naik Mujahid Khan, 40, embraced a resident of Kohat, martyrdom. ISPR described him as a “brave earth of land” that “fought gallantly and paid the ultimate victim.”
Two additional engagements occurred in the Khyber and Bannu districts, where three more militants were killed. Security forces also restore weapons, ammunition and explosives from the places. ISPR said the militants were involved in attacks against both security personnel and civilians.
“Sanitization operations are in the process of eliminating all the remaining terrorists in the area,” said it, adding, “Pakistan’s security forces are determined to wipe out the threat of terror, and such victims of our brave soldiers further strengthen our determination.”
