Google Pixel phones apparently kick some strange vibrations after the recent March update.
Over on Google Pixel Subbreddit More Pixel users reporting that the haptic vibrations when installing the update, serving, feel different than before.
Some notice this when writing on the virtual pixel keyboard, while others claim that all vibrations feel different.
A poster that goes past the Krysnosis handle immediately felt the hollow feeling. It has less tuna and does not feel so clean. Now it has a lingering light vibration. Before, it just ended clean. “
It is difficult to narrow down whether these changes affect certain pixel models or most pixels that qualify for the update.
But the general mood of the Reddit wire is that the change in vibrations feels less direct and robust, something that was not met with the approval of the affected.
There is no mention of changes in haptik or the intensity of the vibrations in Google’s Changelog for the update in March 2025, so this seems to be a mistake.
I’m in the process of downloading an update to my Google Pixel 9 Pro, which takes some time because of my slow internet, so I’m afraid I can’t give you any insight on my part yet.
The people of 9to5Google say they have not noticed any vibration changes on their Pixel 9 models; However, Verge reported to detect vibration changes in Google Pixel 8 phones, while Reddit users noted that Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro have been affected.
So it’s all a bit strange and Google has yet to comment on the vibration questions. If you have noticed changes to vibrations on your pixel, please tell me in the comments below.
