Hyderabad:
Eight months after a companion of Shaheed Fazil Rahu, a rough figure that appeared during the movement of democracy, took his life at Rahu’s grave, his son also allegedly committed suicide in the same place. The incident happened in Rahuki, Badin District, Friday.
The dead body of 44-year-old buddy Ayaz Jokhio was found in Mausoleumet’s premises and then switched to District Headquarters Hospital for Post-Mortem.
Later, Jokhio’s brother and family members, including women and children, staged in addition to dozens of supporters, a protest along with the dead body that accused former provincial minister, Ismail Rahu, of Jokhio’s suicide and his father, comrade Ali Muhammad Jokhio.
Sarang Latif Jokhio, the deceased’s brother, said his father and the whole family had worked for Rahus since the 1980s, but their loyalty is repaid with dead bodies. They called on the authorities to implement a transfer to ascertain the circumstances that led to the suicides.
The protesters later spread and the deceased was laid to rest next to his father’s grave in the village of Qabil Jokhio. Sarang claimed his brother before death had asked his family not to let Rahu come to his funeral. Ismail Rahu, which belongs to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), succeeded his father in politics.
