Sophie Cunningham claps back on Caitlin Clark over Swimsuit Post

Sophie Cunningham may be Caitlin Clark’s “Enforce” teammate, but doesn’t hold back from clapping back on Clark even for discrepancies on how they use their off-time.

Clark is recently aiming for Cunningham and colleague Fever star Lexie Hull for a video on social media showing Cunningham and Hull in a swimsuit at a pool ahead of last week’s match against Los Angeles Sparks. The caption read, “convince us that there is a swimsuit brand that wants to collaborate with two Indiana fever -mermaids.”

Clark commented on the video, “Swimsuit Brands Plz Comment ‘Focus on Basketball.”

Cunningham approached the online interaction during an episode of her podcast on Wednesday and pointed out the fact that Clark has been sidelined with damage from the team for about a month.

“Dude, you are ruining me and Lexie’s deals. We are the ones who have actually played and we need a little break and that’s when we go to the pool. And I think only five companies reached out,” Cunningham said.

Cunningham then made it a point to spot Clark for her seemingly different swimsuit style and even Clark’s skin color.

“I was like, ‘Dude, you don’t have to be a hate. I get you like a one piece that only shows your eyes,'” Cunningham said. “She did something and has this big bruise on her leg and I was like ‘you finally get color.'”

Cunningham originally responded to Clark in Tiktok with a side-plated comment that sounds, “Maybe a fire will make a wet suit with full body for your pale A-OG … We all win!”

Cunningham previously became a viral sensation and one of WNBA’s most popular players after starting a match against Connecticut Sun player Jacy Sheldon in defense of Clark in June. Cunningham was thrown out and fined for the shift, but saw an increase in supporters of social media after the incident and quickly crossed a million on Tiktok and Instagram.

It quickly earned Cunningham the title “Enforcer” among Clark’s fans. Cunningham has also repeatedly spoken in defense of Clark against perceived unreasonable refereeing and targeting of other players, and has claimed that Clark is “the league.”

But now Cunningham doesn’t distort himself away from taking some verbal jabs on Clark himself.
