- After apparently working with the Apple TV app for some users, Netflix says it was not scheduled
- The streaming service calls the integration that some people saw ‘unintentionally’
- Furthermore, Netflix does not expect to adopt integration in the future
One of the most important benefits of the Apple TV app -on an Apple TV 4K streaming box or another platform -is that it is not only home to Apple TV Plus Originals and MLS Season Pass games, but it is also a hub of What you’ve streamed on other services.
Catch 22, if you want to, it was since its debut several years back, Netflix-one of the best streaming services has been a part of it. It made the experience a little clumsy and it has apparently been an adhesive point for the streamer. It looked like Netflix didn’t want you to easily jump back into Squid Games or any other title from the most important Apple TV app.
But this morning (February 14), some Apple TV users began to report that Netflix content appeared in the Apple TV app, with the ability to jump right back and keep watching. It was finally an opening of Netflix’s Walled Garden approach and a sign that maybe – just maybe – the tide turned.
It seemed like a strange roll -out for either Netflix or Apple as looking up this partnership would have been news -worthy. That would have been on the theme of Apple as it is ready to hold a launch on February 19, and this week marked the launch of the Powerbeats Pro 2 and the arrival of the Apple TV app on Android.

But that’s what we want
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman went to X (formerly Twitter) to add that it would be unlikely for Netflix to perform such an 180 degrees on the integration, and that few users watched it live in the Apple TV app. He suggested that it may be a mistake or a mistake at some point and this is where the bad news is starting to arrive.
Now Techradar can confirm that this, according to a Netflix spokesman, was an unintended integration that was not expected to happen and that only a small set of users saw it. Furthermore, Netflix has since rolled back everything back, and the streamer does not expect integration to become a full function in the future.
This comes after Netflix created waves to raise prices once again at the end of January, a trend that I first want the streaming service would bend. It also raised the cost of its plans, while it promised “to invest in programming and deliver more value to our members.” Integrating with the Apple TV app and making it more accessible and seamless to see content – be it brand new or resumption – would have been just that for me and apparently many other people.
Who knows, maybe this mistake will make Netflix come to the table and start integrating with Apple at some point, although the cards seem stacked aginst this for the time being.
