South Park is one of the hit shows of Paramount and the streamer wants to keep the series on his platform.
Given this, Park County, South Park Digital Studios and the studio allegedly ink have an exclusive agreement worth $ 1.5 billion.
This agreement will see the comedy exhibition renewed for five years, preserve all 26 seasons and expand streaming and broadcast rights for the Comedy Central and Paramount+series. Previously, HBO had the Max streaming rights for the show in the US.
“Matt and Trey are unique, creative forces whose fearless humor and border pushes storytelling has made South Park one of the most beloved and lasting series ever-more popular today than at any time in his history and one of the most valuable TV franchisees in the world,” said Chris McCarthy, Co-Coo for Paramount Global and President Entertainter.
“They are extraordinary talents and trusted partners – we are pleased that Comedy Central and now Paramount+ will be globally home to South Park in the years to come, and our thank you to the Skydance team for their vital partnership to make this happen.”
“Trey and I and the whole South Park crew are grateful for this extension and this agreement,” said Matt Stone. “We would like to thank Chris McCarthy and Keyes Hill-Edgar for years with great partnership and look forward to continuing to make South Park for the next five years.”
South Park’s Season 27 is out on Comedy Central and Paramount+.
