Below is a full list of the actors confirmed to be part of the new Marvel movie’s ensemble. I’ll discuss who each will play — or could portray if their character’s identity hasn’t been announced — and where you might have seen them before.
The article continues below
Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
First up is an A-lister who needs no introduction, but I’ll give him one anyway.
With six Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) appearances under his belt, Holland returns as Parker and his superpowered alias. On the back of his last outing in the 2021s Spider-Man: No Way Homewhich was the hard reset Spidey needed in the MCU, we’ll find the eponymous character has returned to his friendly neighborhood heroic roots. However, everything else about this film’s plot is being kept under wraps.
Away from playing Spider-Man, Holland has appeared in Apple TV projects Cherry and The crowded roomSony’s live action Uncharted films and other big screen productions such as The devil all the time, Forwardand Chaos Walking. Next up for Holland is a supporting role in Christopher Nolan’s historical epic The Odysseywhich comes out a week before Brand new day.
Zendaya as Michelle ‘MJ’ Jones
Peter Parker’s love interest in his first three solo MCU films, MJ is also in this Marvel Phase 6 film. Holland film megastar Zendaya returns as the character, although it’s unclear how big a role she’ll get Brand new day.
With a large back catalog of her own, Zendaya is another star that audiences will instantly recognize. As well as performing in Spider-Man 4she will reprise her role as Rue in Euphoria season 3, which debuts on HBO Max on April 12, and stars in the A24 film The dramawhich launches in theaters on April 3. Later this year she will return as Chani in Dune: Part Threealso with the sci-fi epic’s next installment coming out on December 18th.
Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds
The third and final member of the MCU’s first Spider-Man the film trilogy’s main trio, Batalon, will appear as Ned Leeds, i.e. Peter’s former best friend. Like Zendaya, there’s no word on whether Batalon will have a major role to play, or if Leeds will merely play a part.
Batalon was last seen in the Prime Video action comedy The Wrecking Crew. Other productions he has starred in include Syfys Reginald the VampireLionsgate’s NovocaineSony’s Tarotand Netflix Elevator.
Sadie Sink as TBC
An actor whose star has grown exponentially since she first appeared as Max Mayfield in Season 2 of the Netflix mega-hit Stranger ThingsSink makes his MCU debut in Brand new day.
There have been many – and I mean one lot — of talk about the identity of her character since Sink joined the cast Spider-Man 4 also last March. From iconic X-Men member Jean Gray and the monstrous entity Shathra, to a character linked to The Punisher (more on him soon) and even another MJ in the form of Peter Parker’s longtime love interest Mary Jane Watson, no one knows who Sink is playing. Hopefully we’ll finally find out who it’s in Brand new dayfirst teaser.
Apart from Stranger ThingsSink has also featured in Netflix’s Fear Street film series, as well The whale, Dear Zoe, O’Dessaand American Odyssey.
Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher
Last seen portraying the fan-favorite anti-hero in the Daredevil: Born Again‘s first season, Bernthal’s The Punisher will finally make the leap to the big screen in Spider-Man 4.
Speculation is rife that he will be charged with protecting Sink’s unnamed persona, so it will be interesting to see how he fits into Brand new day‘s wider narrative.
After getting his big break in AMC’s adaptation of The Walking DeadBernthal is now best known for playing Castle in Netflix’s Defenders-Verse and more recently the MCU. He has also appeared in the popular Hulu comedy-drama series The bear, Auditor 2, American Gigolo, The Many Saints of Newarkand Baby driver among many others. His last major role came in the Netflix thriller His & hersand he will appear with Holland in The Odyssey when it hits theaters on July 24. At some point this year, he will also appear in a The Punisher’s MCU Special presentation on Disney+.
Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk
Another Marvel veteran with several MCU appearances on his extensive resume, Ruffalo is expected to have a supporting role as Banner and his gamma-irradiated superpowered alias. Again, there’s nothing official to report about the Avengers’ likely role in it Spider-Man: Brand New Daybut maybe we’ll get a clue or two soon.
An Oscar nominee, Ruffalo is a household name who has appeared in a wide variety of films and television series. Among that number is the hit HBO TV Originals Task and I know this much to be true20th Century Studios’ Poor thingsWarner Bros’ Mickey 17Paramount Pictures’ Zodiac signSony Pictures’ Fox catcherand recent Amazon crime thrillers Crime 101.
Marvin Jones III as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone
A September 2025 report revealed that Brand new day‘s first official villain will be Tombstone — and confirmed that Jones III, aka Krondon, will play the character. This is the second time that Jones III has portrayed Tombstone, having voiced him in the 2018 animated offering Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
With Spider-Man 4 set to feature several villains, it’s unclear which of them will be the film’s Big Bad. However, industry insiders are suggesting that Tombstone will be the main antagonist, so we’ll see if that’s the case when the first teaser drops.
Jones III won’t be a familiar face to everyone, but he has had roles in Paramount+’s live-action version of iconic video game franchises HelloThe CWs Black Lightningand Lionsgate’s Shadow Force.
Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion
After his only MCU appearance – a brief appearance Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s mid-credits scene – Mando returns as one of Spidey’s most notorious foes, Mac Gargan, aka Scorpion.
First rumored to reprise his role as Gargan last May, Mando confirmed his involvement via Instagram in late 2025. Then, in February, concept art leaked for Spider-Man 4 revealed that Scorpion would be making an appearance, although fans aren’t keen on his redesigned suit. Either way, expect him to be on secondary villain duties.
Best known for playing Nacho in Better call SaulMando’s other works include Orphan Black, King Ivoryand Les Bleus de Ramville.
Tramell Tillman as TBC
An actor who broke into the mainstream when he appeared in the Apple TV Original ResignationTillman has reportedly been cast Spider-Man: Brand New Day as another mysterious character.
There are rumblings that he has been hired to embody the head of the Department of Damage Control (DoDC), also known as the US government-funded agency tasked with keeping track of superhumans. But as always, we await further details, with the trailer potentially shedding light on whether this will be the case.
Elsewhere, Tillman has participated in television projects Dietland, Hit Monkeyand Godfather of Harlem. Recently he was seen in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.
Liza Colón-Zayas as TBC
Rounding off Spider-Man 4‘s confirmed cast is Colón-Zayas. Once again, there is no official word on the person she will portray, but the gossip columns indicate that her character will be an ally of Spider-Man.
A performer who became better known for his main supporting role in The bearColón-Zayas has also appeared in Law and order, pending, IF, The Purge: Election Yearand Allswell in New York.
