Spillways opened when Rawal Dam -Level rises

Islamabad:

After continuous rainfall, the water level in Rawal Dam increased sharply on Tuesday, causing the district administration to open its waste roads to maintain safe discharge levels.

According to the district administration, the recent rainfall caused a significant increase in the dam’s water level reaching 1,752 feet. In response, the authorities opened the spills to regulate power and prevent overflow risks.

A spokesperson for the administration said water discharge would continue according to the prescribed limits to ensure controlled release from the reservoir.
