Spotify’s Premium -Family Plan just got a big upgrade for parents – and it could also save their Spotify wrapped

  • Spotify expands administered accounts for its premium family plan after a successful pilot drive
  • Parents’ Guardian Managers will be able to activate controls for younger listeners, including explicit content filters and specific song restrictions
  • It also adds an additional layer of protection to your individual Spotify -wrapped results

Spotify makes changes to its premium family plan and expands managed accounts (Music Streaming Service’s Premium accounts for younger listeners) to seven new locations, including the US, UK and Australia.

Managed accounts launched in three regions last year and later expanded to seven more. After the successful pilot driving, Spotify now brings it to another seven new territories: USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France and the Netherlands.

Although managed accounts have only been part of Spotify’s subscription ecosystem for a year, they have become a very requested function, thus the company’s decision to roll them out more widespread.

One of Spotify’s goals is to give listeners aged 13 and younger space to explore their own music taste and listen to their favorite artists with parental control in place. They can also take advantage of other popular features such as Playlist-Making, Daylist and the Renewed Discover Weekly, like any standard Spotify subscriber. However, interactivity functions come with some restrictions. E.g. Are Spotify messages age-excavated.
