Washington capitals Star Tj Oshie has called it a career after 16 seasons in the NHL.
The Stanley Cup Master who helped Team USA with demanding victory over Russia in Sochi 2014 in 2014 BEERAnnounced his decision Monday while talking to fans in Washington Harbor in Georgetown.

“Seven years ago I swam and my teammates in the fountain celebrating a fantastic time in our career,” Oshie said, remembering the capitals’ Stanley Cup Parties in 2018. “I can’t thank Caps enough. Another first -class move from them to have my pension here, invite all people out. It really made this day special.”
Oshie, 38, was drafting the first round of 2005 NHL -draft of St. Louis Blueswhere he played seven seasons before being shopped for Washington in 2015. He recorded 192 goals and 193 assists (385 points) in 567 games with the capitals that only drew Alex Ovechkin to most goals on the team.

Oshie was sidelined last season with a continuous back injury. His last NHL The game was on April 28, 2024 against the New York Rangers in the playoffs.

One of his most memorable moments that gave him the title Olympic Hero was in 2014 when he scored four shootout goals in the United States victory over Russia in the preliminary round of the Sochi Games.
“I like to think that when I played that I was playing for my teammates, for my coaches, for my family, for my fans. I rarely thought of my own accolades,” Oshie said Monday. “Being remembered (as a ‘warrior’ type of player) is a huge honor because it was my goal and the way I played the game.”
