- You can now get StarLinks Setup hardware for free
- This requires a 12-month commitment to the Internet Service
- There are plenty of small pressure and not everyone can get it
When subscribing to a StarLink internet package, you usually have to pay for the cost of your new bowl and router. It can be expensive as that technique comes to $ 349 in the United States. But a new plan from Starlink could see you getting these things to absolutely nothing, which potentially makes it one of the best internet deals around.
The change comes as part of Starlink’s 12-month standard kit housing plan. You still have to pay the regular monthly fee for your service, but to remove the cost of actual hardware can net you some significant savings.
Starlink, who announced the change on X, said the new option would be available in “Select Markets.” This means you need to check if you are actually eligible for this discount based on where you live. To do so, go to the StarLinks Website, enter your address and then select Order now to see if you are covered.
A lower access barrier
Starlink’s offers may seem like a good deal, but there are some warnings to be aware of. First, you only get the kit for free if you commit to a 12-month plan-you have to pay the full number if you choose the company’s month to month “no obligation” plan.
In addition to that, Starlink charges a ‘change fee’ if you change your address, cancel your service, do not pay your bill on time, try to transfer your service to another, or cancel your service during the 30-day test but do not return your set. If one of these scenarios occurs, you will be charged the full $ 349 for the bowl and the router, even if this number is pro-classified based on how far through your 12-month commitment you are.
This means that you will have to think carefully about whether this opportunity is right for you.
Still, if it is, it can save you a pile of cash on the hardware you need for Starlink service. Presumably, Starlink has decided that lowering the cost of entry is worth it to increase the subscriber numbers – and that’s good news if you already considered signing up.
