Pittsburgh Steelers is in the market for a quarterback this season as questions remain over whether the team ends up bringing Russell Wilson, Justin Fields back or signing someone new.

Steelers’ Quarterback interests were documented earlier during the high season.

It first started with rumors that the team called Jacksonville Jaguars who asked about the availability of Trevor Lawrence. Pro Football Talk later reported that no calls were never made, and Lawrence himself shot down rumors in an interview about “Up & Adams.”

Then Steelers is rumored to be interested in Daniel Jones. Andrew Fillipponi, a radio host of a 93.7 fan in Pittsburgh, wrote at X that there was “interest in the Steelers organization” in Jones. He wrote that there was a belief that he would thrive in offensive coordinator Arthur Smith’s violation.

Steelers fans did not take the reported interest easily and expressed frustrations on social media.

Jones was a first choice of New York Giants in 2019. He played during Eli Manning in a few matches during his rookie season before taking over full time.

He was with Giants for about six seasons and led the team to an end game and a win after the season. New York cut him in the middle of the 2024 season and he later signed with Minnesota Vikings.

Jones has 14,582 passing yards and 70 touchdown passes. He also has 2,179 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns.
