Steelers’ Mike Tomlin raises the eyebrows with Chris Boswell description

NEWYou can now listen to Pakinomist articles!

Usually the superlative for a big kicker in the NFL has something to do with his legs. A “large trunk”, “big leg” or something like that is the common expression of the player in the pressure -filled position.

Pittsburgh Steeler’s main coach Mike Tomlin cooked up a new way of describing veteran Chris Boswell on Sunday after spiking a 60-yard field goal to put the team ahead 34-23 with 1:03 back in the game against the New York Jets. Steelers held on for the victory.

“Our kicker is a serial killer,” Tomlin told journalists. “He has a low pulse rate. He can’t wait to deliver.”

Boswell has been able to give these clutch kick regularly. He was 2-for-2 from Field-Goal Range and spiked all four extra points on Sunday. He hit a 56-yard field goal in the second quarter. Without Boswell’s brands, Steelers probably won’t win the game.

“Bos always does from 60 in first name,” Tomlin added. “Bos will always turn off deep. The one he made in the first half, I don’t even know if he even looked at me. It’s fourth down and he went on the field. But it’s the type of guy you want to be beating for you under these circumstances.”

He joined Steelers as an untapped free agent in 2015 and spiked 90.6% of his attempts in his rookie season. It was enough for Pittsburgh to continue bringing him back to the schedule.

Boswell won the second Pro Bowl-Nikket of his career and his first All-Pro selection last season. He was 41-of-44 on field goals. The 41 make LED NFL. He was 13-of-15 from 50 meters out or more.

Pittsburgh will have an extra focus on them this season due to the high profiled acquisitions of Aaron Rodgers, DK Metcalf, Jalen Ramsey and others during the high season.

Getting to a win in week 1 will definitely quit the critics – so far.
