Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert just sat down to reflect on the situations they both faced with their respective late evening exhibitions.
For those who are not daring, Colbert’s Show The Late Show ended up canceled by CBS, while Kimel’s Show Jimmy Kimmel Live suffered a suspension.
Now, with the suspension lifted, Colbert arrived at the Jimmy Kimmel Live scene and told his own experience with the cancellation and how he navigated all over.
“” Evie said, “should you tell your staff tomorrow?” “Colbert remembered his manager James Dixon and asked him after delivering news about the cancellation.
At the time, “I said, ‘Oh, I don’t know. Maybe I’ll tell them after the summer holidays. Maybe I’ll tell them in September.’ She said, ‘You will tell them tomorrow.’ I said, ‘I don’t think so. “
The day he talks about how “We get into the building. I go up the elevator. I go through offices. As I come to my offices, I have sweat through my shirt. Because I didn’t want to know anything my staff didn’t know.”
At one point he decided to tell them after they taped an episode instead and admitted, “I was so nervous about doing it right. Because there was nothing on the prompt, I did it from the cuff. I f ***** up twice, and I had to restart. And the audience thought it was a bit. ”
“Because I always messed with the sentence that told them what happened. And then I came to the phrase that told them what happened and they didn’t laugh. They didn’t laugh. That was it. So that’s how I did it.”
