Shannon was introduced to the Hall of Fame in 2011. At that time he declared famous that his older brother was the better footballer between them two.

“The last time I was here you said you were the only pro football player in the Hall of Fame who could say this that you were the second best player in your own family. Well, I agree with this statement …” said Sterling.

“It would be my extreme joy for you to be the only player in the Pro Football Hall of Fame with two gold jackets.”

Sharpe Brothers became the first sibling duo in the NFL story that was enshrined in Pro Football Hall of Fame.

In a pre -recorded video played before Sterling took the podium, Shannon praised his brother for playing a physical football style.

“He was a freight train,” Shannon said. “He was a physical recipient. He ran to contact. He didn’t avoid it. It didn’t matter if it was an oblique over the middle and he had to run through two tackles …

“He would wipe out the penalty, just as they would try to punish him.”

Elder Sharpe spent his entire great career with Packers, earned all-pro-hains three times and led the NFL to receive touchdowns twice. He was also the first player in the league story to end consecutive seasons with 100 Plus receptions.
