Onijah Andrew Robinson, an American woman who traveled to Karachi to marry a 19-year-old local man, had publicly demanded $ 100,000 to help facilitate her return to the United States and “Fix Pakistan.”

However, she apparently only received RS100,000 (about $ 320). A video circulating online shows Robinson, who counts the money, with the person confirming that she now possesses RS100,000.

Robinson, 33, arrived in Karachi on October 11, 2024 for the purpose of marrying Nidal Ahmed Memon, whom she met on social media.

However, Memon’s family opposed the union, leaving her stranded.

Despite the help of a non-state organization, including a return ticket and financial support, Robinson initially refused to leave and camp outside Memon’s residence.

At a press conference at Chhipa Welfare Organization’s Office, Robinson said, “Give me money. The government should give me $ 100,000.”

She claimed to have married Memon online and insisted that her intentions were not financially motivated.

Robinson’s son, Jeremiah, revealed that his mother is suffering from bipolar suffering and urged her to return home. He expressed concern about the media’s portrayal of her situation.

Authorities have since transferred Robinson to the psychiatric ward of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for Evaluation.
