Strict security measures in place for Eid Milad-Un-Nabi in Rawalpindi

Eid Milad-un-Nabi is observed in Rawal Pindi with devotion when committees end the preparations along with strict security measures for the main process.

More than 6,000 police officers and staff will be deployed across rawalpindi to ensure the secret of the processions. At the input points in processions, the review gates are installed and participants only gain access after body searches.

The main procession will pass through Banni Chowk, Circular Road, Waris Khan, Murree Road, selection Chowk, Iqbal Road, Bohar Bazaar, Fawara Chowk, Raja Bazaar and Ding Khoi Chowk, before finishing on Jamia Masjid Road. Streets, roads and alleys along the processional route will be sealed for safety.

According to Vice President of the Milad Committee Hafiz Hassan Fareedi, the most important Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession in Rawalpindi will be inaugurated at 1 p.m. 11 on stage created outside the historic Jamia Masjid.

“The preliminary ceremony participates in district administration officials, members of the Central Milad Committee, scholars and religious leaders,” said Hafiz Hassan Fareedi. The administration has a ban on music-based Naat groups and large vehicles in the procession.

Separately, the Cantt Milad Committee’s most important procession on the 12th Rabi-Ul-Awwal begins at 1 p.m. 10 from Chungi No.22 Chowk.
