Peshawar:
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) of the Terrorism Department (CTD) from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has foiled a large terror plot that kills a suicide bomber and his trades during an intelligence-based operation in the Shamshatoo area of Peshawar.
According to CTD officials, the operation was performed on a tip-off, which prevented what could have been a significant attack on a sensitive installation in the province.
“A suicide bomber and his trades were killed under the raid. Both belonged to the forbidden terrorist clothing Fitna al-Khawarij,” a spokesman for CTD said. “They planned an attack with a high influence on a critical goal.”
CTD confirmed that the suicide attack had entered Pakistan from Afghanistan. Weapons, a suicide vest, a submachine gun (SMG), a gun and explosive material were recovered from the site.
The slain suicide bomber was identified as Munir Ahmed Yellow. CTD said the terrorists opened fire during the raid, but no loss was reported among security staff. “This successful intelligence operation has awarded a major terrorist attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” CTD added in a statement.
The department said it remains vigilant against cross -border threats and militant elements trying to destabilize the province. Studies are underway to determine if the group had any local facilitators.
