Rawalpindi:
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan was allowed to meet his lawyer, Ali Bukhari on Tuesday, while his wife Bushra Bibi met his daughter and sister-in-law in Rawalpindis Adiala prison, where the couple is detained.
However, Imran’s three sisters – Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan and Noreen Niazi – were denied access, causing them to arrange a protest late at night at a local restaurant by the roads. Police later broke down and detained six PTI workers. However, it was later reported that police assured IMRAN’s sisters that they would be allowed to meet him today (Wednesday).
Ali Bukhari, who spoke with the media after the outside jail meeting, said the PTI founder remains steadfast despite lonely inclusion.
Bukhari said six names had been submitted to the authorities for permission to meet Imran, but only he was allowed to meet the former prime minister.
He also noted that his client has been denied access to newspapers and television and was not even allowed to meet his wife.
According to him, Imran insisted that the “justice sun will rise” and called on supporters not to lose courage.
Separately, Aleema Khan told journalists at the police factory control that warrants had been issued against her and she had not sought bail.
“Our brother is inside; arrests us too,” she said, adding that the authorities were not concerned about Pakistan or PTI founder. She demanded answers on May 9, 2023 rebel events.
“Bring CCTV recordings – were cameras not installed on such larger institutions [attacked on that day]? Those who stole the footage are the ones that set the buildings on fire.
“Why should we apologize? It’s those who have to apologize to the PTI founder. This injustice has to end; the system cannot continue like that,” she added.
Meanwhile, PTI -General Salman Salman Akram Raja also jumped beyond the authorities, saying that the court’s judgments against PTI leaders in May 9 cases rested only on the testimony of two policemen who claimed to have entered Zaman Park wearing “invisibility cloaks”.
He spoke with the media near Adiala Prison and said the PTI founder had been held in lonely inclusion for four weeks contrary to a ruling from Islamabad High Court. He called the cases part of a conspiracy to implicate the PTI founder and demanded transparent investigations.
“On the basis of two policemen’s testimony, parliamentarians are handed down ten-year-olds and their properties confiscated. Even the British during the Freedom Movement did not commit such transgressions,” Raja said.
He revealed that Imran had instructed the party not to compete with elections in vacancies.
“Some leaders think we should participate, but for us his words are final. Without meeting him, further consultation is not possible,” he added, noting that on March 25, family and lawyers have been denied meetings with the PTI founder.
