Suni Lee was oh so close not to compete in Paris -ol last year.
In April 2023 Lee announced that she was going to Finish her auburn -career Due to a kidney problem and Auburn doctors wouldn’t clear her.
Lee got 45 pounds, her eyes were “swollen closed” and she “couldn’t make a flip.”
“My fingers were so swollen, they wouldn’t fit into my grip, and I couldn’t hold on to the bar,” she said back in November 2023.

In a recent interview with FOX News Digital “Finish Lee actually” Gymnastics “a few times.”
“I told my coach that I will not do this anymore … There were many times when I wouldn’t do this anymore, or I just doubted me more in the process. I think, even as close as like Olympic attempts I doubted myself,” Lee said.
After reviewing an incredible grinding, however, Lee was in Paris and won three medals – the whole team won gold, and Lee himself went bronze in the all -round and uneven bars.
Recently, she was nominated for and won the best comeback athlete on 2025 Espys Wednesday night.
“It’s incredible, and it’s such a surreal feeling just because I know how hard the journey was, so being here is pretty incredible on my own, and I’m just really excited about tonight and being with the other nominees,” Lee said.
When she attended the award show, she went with Raising Cane’s, which helped her get ready for the apartment.

“Oh my gosh, they’ve been so amazing and they’ve brought me to so many amazing places too, and having this relationship is just so fun. I feel like every time we’re with them, we all have such a good time and they’re really so big people, so it’s a good relationship.”
Lee admitted that she did not start to feel 100% normal until after the Olympics.
“We still tried to find out everything, get into the routine, learn how my body was able to adapt to the medicine, time changes, and the journey, it was just a lot going on at once. Plus, being stressed and overwhelmed did not help. But yes, I would say things definitely reassured afterwards, and I am now able to just live my life a little more normal.”

By going to Paris, she doubled her medal count and etched herself in the Espy story.
