- James Gunn has confirmed Superman‘s full role crew has not been revealed yet
- Co-Ceo for DC Studios does not say who else can appear
- I am convinced that another superhero will emerge, albeit in a como -role
Superman is less than a month away from flying into theaters and according to James Gunn Still has not been revealed yet.
In a speech with Entertainment Weekly, Gunn confirmed that there are characters in the DC Universe (DCU) movie arriving on July 11, whose identity has not been publicly revealed. Asked if there are persons who will appear in Superman Who has not been announced yet, DC Studios Co-chef simply replied: “Yes.”
Predictably, Gunn’s one-word answer tongues that cradle among DC cartoon fans. Could Batman and/or Wonder Woman make unexpected, yet crowd-pleasing comosis? What about other members of Justice League, such as Flash or Aquaman? Or how about peacemaker if the second season is launched at max just over one month (August 21, to be accurate) after Superman‘s theater release?
I don’t think it will be any of these metahumans. If Gunn is to believe, Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince have not even been thrown into their independent DCU chapter 1 projects yet. Meanwhile, Flash and Aquaman have not been mentioned by Gunn during his two and a half years of stint (at the time of publication) as Co-Ceo for DC Studios. As for peacemaker I would be very surprised if he debuts Peacemaker Season 2 is released. So who could Gunn refer to?
A not so cryptic cryptonic como
In my opinion, there is only one individual that Gunn’s answer applies to: Supergirl, alias Kara Zor-El.
Think about it. Per DC Comics Lore, Kara is the only other person who survived Krypton’s destruction, is Kal-El/Superman’s cousin and had to join her blood on the ground to not only help raise him but protect him as he grew up. Unfortunately, according to DC literature, her ship was knocked off-course by Krypton’s explosion and did not come to the ground for another 24 years. At that time, Kal-El, surprising, all adults, adopted alias Superman and had become one of the planet’s most powerful heroes.
Considering Kal-EL already acts as a superhero as soon SupermanThe story begins, we will not see much if any, of Kara’s back story in one of 2025’s most eagerly awaited new films. Nevertheless a short como from the power of power – either before Superman‘s final credits or in a post-credit scene-ville be a fun way to introduce her to the audience and tease the family dynamic she has with her younger cousin.
Supergirl’s short appearance in Superman Would also pave the way for his own solo movie. Supergirl: Tomorrow Woman – It is now known by its simpler title SupergirlAs Gunn recently confirmed – will take aircraft on June 26, 2026 and is therefore the second DCU movie arriving in theaters. That would therefore make sense for Milly Alcock’s Supergirl to Cameo in Superman In front of the character’s first feature film of over 40 years.
There is yet another evidence that is convinced that Kara Zor-El is coming up in Gunn’s Superman film.

Supergirl Is strongly inspired by Tom King and Bilquis Evelys ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ Cartoon. In it, Krypto Superdogen Kara ends as she goes out on a mission to help a young warrior with accurate revenge on the man who killed the warrior’s father. You can read several DC Studios’ film adaptation of this graphic novel via my dedicated Supergirl Film Guide.
Seam Superman‘s first trailer and subsequent follow -up teasers have revealed, Krypto is part of this film’s list. If he will also appear in next year’s Supergirl Movies, there is no better way for Kal-El to pass him on his only surviving relative than of Kara, appearing briefly in Man of Steel’s latest restart of the big screen.
Do you agree with me that Supergirl is all confirmed to appear in Superman? If not here, who else Gunn could refer to, in your opinion? Tell me that in the comments.
