A man accused of murdering 22-year-old Aisha Habiba on her wedding day has been arrested in Lahores Sundar area, police said Friday.
The suspect identified as Ikram was the brother-in-law of the victim and allegedly killed her over a dispute over marriage schemes, according to Dig-Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza, reported Express News.
The incident took place earlier this week and sent shock waves through the local community.
You Raza had noticed the killing and ordered the formation of a special police team during SP -Investigation Sadar Moazam Ali.
Inspector Pasha Imran, who led the investigative unit at Sundar Police Station, completed the arrest with his team.
The suspect had fled from the stage after the shooting, but was traced using modern surveillance technologies and human intelligence.
“Strong evidence has been collected and a solid fee sheet will be submitted to ensure that the suspect receives the appropriate punishment,” you said Raza in a statement.
He confirmed that offenders would be treated firmly and praised the investigative team’s rapid and coordinated efforts.
SSP -Investigation Muhammad Naveed announced rosecertifications for the officers involved.
