Swati acquitted in 2014 Sit-in case

Islamabad:

A lower right in Islamabad Friday acquitted Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) leader Azam Swati in a case relating to violation of section 144 during the party’s sit-in 2014, citing lack of evidence.

Court Magistrat Mureed Abbas approved SWATI’s disability request in the case, which was registered for violation of section 144 during the protests.

During the consultation, spokesman Sohail Khan read the content of the FIR and claimed there was no evidence that he connects his client to any violation.

He requested the court to free Swati and maintained that there was no legal basis to continue the trial.
