Islamabad:
The price of sugar in the country continues its upward spiral, where retail prices reach as high as the RS200 per year. Kg in larger cities, showed the latest data released by PBS on Saturday.
In its recently issued weekly price statistics, PBS reported that the national average price of sugar has risen to RS188.44 per year. Kg, which marked a weekly increase of RS3.52.
According to Statistics Bureau, Sugar has now crossed the RS200/kg mark in Karachi, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, making it the most expensive sweetener in recent months and further stressful household budgets already strained by inflation.
