Sydney Sweeney picks up the role of boxing master Christy Martin, so it is expected that in her words she would get a “crazy black eye” during filming.
As boxing drama -biopic premieres at the Toronto Film Festival, the actress reminds of the overwhelming shooting experience, especially the boxing scenes.
“I was pummed,” she adds. “They kept ice packs to my face in between take. I was knocked up.”
The star continues, “I had some gnarly bruises after that.” Her “crazy black eye” was meanwhile the result of reintroducing a famous match between Christy Martin and Laila Ali in the film.
The film’s boxing sequences, which would be a treat to watch, required a lot of work behind the scenes to shoot.
For example, Sydney reveals that she filmed these scenes “Back to Back Against a Single Week. I would pack after a 12-hour shoot, and then I had to work out for another two hours. The whole week was overwhelming.”
In addition to her latest film, the actress is under fire to a denim jeans advertising campaign since its release.
However, Madame Web Star closed the questions about the controversy and doubled by promoting Christy.
“I’m there to support my movie and the people involved in doing it,” she says Vanity Fair. “I’m not there to talk about jeans. The movie is about Christy [Martin]And that’s what I want to be there to talk about. “
Christy will hit theaters on November 7th.
