Talal discussing migration with UK’s Cooper

Islamabad:

Prime Minister of Interior Talal Chaudhry participated in Border Security Summit 2025, held in London, where he met with British home secretary Yvette Cooper, British Deputy Secretary of State Hamish Faulkner and Angela Eagle.

Chaudhry also held discussions with domestic ministers from Germany, Spain, Austria and Poland with a focus on border security and international cooperation.

During conversations with British officials, Chaudhry emphasized the need to limit illegal immigration and promote legal paths to migration. He praised the British government’s efforts to tackle immigration challenges and expressed Pakistan’s obligation to strengthen cooperation in this regard.

British deputy Foreign Minister Hamish Faulkner recognized the positive results of a previous meeting with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and highlighted improved bilateral cooperation on security issues.

Talal Chaudhry emphasized the importance of a common strategy for border security, terrorism and human trafficking, where he said that collective action is important to ensure safe, legal and regulated migration.

He repeated Pakistan’s attitude to global cooperation on fighting illegal immigration and cross -border crimes, emphasizing that a comprehensive and long -term approach is needed to tackle challenges such as illegal migration, terrorism and human trafficking.

“Under the Prime Minister’s and the Minister of the Interior, Pakistan is actively engaged on a global scale to fight illegal immigration, improve border security and eliminate organized crime,” said Chaudhry.

He also revealed that Pakistan presented key proposals on Border Security Summit 2025, which reflects its commitment to international security and migration management.
