Islamabad: While recognizing that an International Monetary Fund (IMF) Delegation met with Chief Justice in view of the “letters” sent by PTI, a minister who neglected the meaning of the meeting and claimed the delegation during The interaction did not discuss profits from legal cases.
“Letter was written to the IMF and encouraged them to intervene why they had requested a meeting with Chief Justice [Yahya Afridi]”Federal Minister of Law and Parliamentary Affairs Azam Nazeer Tarar told the Senate Thursday.
The minister answered a question about Jui-F senator Kamran Murtaza, who noted that although no one else is allowed to meet Chief Justice, the IMF delegation was capable of it.
According to Tarar, the meeting between the IMF officials and CJ took place in a comfortable atmosphere where points regarding the rule of law in the country were discussed.
The Minister noted that the 26th constitutional amendment “may have been discussed during the meeting. However, the IMF did not comment on the benefits of litigation.
“The IMF delegation [also] Met with Chief Justice, who is the leader of the judiciary and oversees various programs receiving grants from abroad, “Tarar added.
On Thursday, the Senate Session was led by Vice President Syedaal Khan.
During the session, the ANP senator Haji Hidayatullah raised an order point and said that ANP had made a request to hold a public collection at Rawalpindis Liaquat Bagh, but had not yet received a response from the PML-N LED Punjab government.
He noted that similar gatherings had been held in other provinces without any incidents and reiterated that an AP, as a spokesman for non-violence, should not be denied permission.
He said that all necessary preparations had been made for the rally planned for Friday at. 15 and warned that rejection of giving permission could cause problems.
He urged the provincial government to rethink its attitude and immediately approve the event. He also mentioned rumors that the provincial government was deliberately blocking the collection.
Senator Shibli Faraz said PTI was not allowed to hold rallies in any province except Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), where the party’s rules.
He criticized the Punjab government for fearing political gatherings and insured the anp of his party’s support. “PTI fully supports the right of all political parties to organize rallies in KP.”
Senator Haji Hidayatullah repeated the ANP’s obligation to democracy and expressed gratitude to the KP government for having allowed their gatherings in DIR, SWAT, BANNU and other districts.
PPP ensator Sherry Rehman said that keeping a collection in Rawalpindi was the Democratic Court of the ANP as long as it remains peaceful.
Senator Irfan Siddiqui from PML-N reiterated her remarks and praised the history of the AP with peaceful protests. He remembered a former ANP -Rally in Liaquat Bagh, which ended with tragedy and fully approved the demand and promised to take up the case with Punjab chief minister Maryam Nawaz.
