The transport mechanism is the TEAC CD-5020A, which has long been used for broadcast applications thanks to its robustness and reliability. Teac has combined the mechanism with a semi -flowing mounting structure and specially designed drive circuits to deliver “a significantly more refined sound experience.”

PD-507T is clean for audio CDs, including CD-R and CD-RW, but not super audio CD (SACD), which may irritate some collectors. It has coaxial digital and optical outputs, each with its own separate effect, and the transport can turn off the power to the unused output.
The whole design is about delivering the purest signal to an external DAC, and for that purpose there is a Toroidal-Core transformer for clean power, two independent uniform circuits for the engine/pickup, two independent unidirection circuits for the clock and digital output and a low-phase noise crystal sosscillator.
Teac says the electrical circuit and the mechanical construction are fine -tuned to deliver an even higher level of sound quality than previous models.
In terms of design, it is a straightforward affair that does not draw attention to itself, although it benefits from a new Amber Full-Dot OLED screen and new control terminals.
