Tensions between the Ministry of Finance and opposition legislators in the Punjab assembly escalated after an alleged attack from an opposition -MPA on a Treasury Member and the retaliatory attack from the private guards of the Treasury legislators on opposition MPAs.
When House Proceedings began under the presidency of acting speeches Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channer, both sides seemed united to call it the darkest day, though each framed events differently. The treasury accused the attack of the opposition, while the opposition pointed to the assault from private guards of the Treasury legislators.
While the Treasury benches called the opposition’s actions as a continuation of the May 9 events in the Punjab Assembly, the opposition also held the Treasury responsible for creating chaos and panic using private guards.
Deputy opposition leader Muhammad Moeenudin Riaz demanded that acting speaker Channer immediately suspend PMLN’s Khalid Hassan Riaz, registered a four against the private guards who attacked the opposition while using violent language and suspending head security manager for the assembly not to prevent the guards’ entry.
The provincial minister of parliamentary affairs Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman stated that Treasury’s MPA Hassan Riaz approached the President when the opposition attorneys began to spot him and then attacked him.

However, he admitted that the incident inside the Media’s Hall should be examined. But he quickly added that if a four were to be registered against those who allegedly attacked the opposition, a four should also be submitted against opposition -MPAs that created anarchy within and outside the assembly chambers.
In the guilt, the opposition seemed to have a small edge over the Treasury and built his case about the attack of the private guards and the suspension of its MPA, Sheikh IMTIAZ, just to point out the quorum.
Although the Ministry of Finance’s legislators repeatedly condemned opposition legislator Khalid Nisar Dogar’s attack on Treasury’s Hassan Riaz and the alleged violent language used by opposition Sheikh Imtiaz while approaching acting speeches Channer, the opposition claimed the question was among the legislators. They questioned how private individuals could be allowed to attack MPAs.
The opposition also rejected the claim that MPA Sheikh Imtiaz had used violent language. They said the scrub began when PMLNS Hassan Riaz first used violent languages. However, the acting speeches assured the Channer House that a strict punishment was given if the involvement of any individuals in the attack was proven.
Treasury legislator Riaz Boikotted the house’s case after opposition Mian Ijaz Shafi was nominated as a member of the committee, which was set up to investigate the attack by private members. He also demanded suspension of Shafi and claimed he was the actual cause of the scrub.

Meanwhile, Treasury Lawmaker Amina Perveen raised concerns about the delayed delivery of traffic challenge. She said people received outdated challengers at home instead of arriving on time.
Minister Rehman recognized the question, but assured that improvements were made. “We have started sending the e-call through WhatsApp and SMS to the right addresses. There are many challenges, but they will be resolved soon.”
Various decisions were passed, including a presented by opposition legislator Ahmar Rasheed Bhatti, who paid tribute to the famous Punjabi poet, the deceased Tajamal Kaleem, together with a request to rename a government boy’s higher high school to Chonia in his honor.
