Terrorists hit the right of education in Lakki Marwat district and destroyed a girls’ elementary school in Ghazni Khel Tehsil. Fortunately, there were no injuries, although the school building sustained heavy damage.
The explosion took place on Tuesday night in the Pahahar Khel Paka Village, where unidentified attackers planted explosives inside the government’s girls’ primary school.
The powerful explosions reduced the classrooms to rubble, making the plant useless and spreading fears among local residents. Authorities confirmed that the attack took place at night when the school was closed, which prevented potential loss of life.
Conducting the attack said officials that target girls’ schools were part of a broader attempt by terrorists to deprive children, especially girls, of their constitutional right to education. Security forces were closed by the area and launched a search operation to track those responsible.
In a separate incident, terrorists fired to another school in the same locality and destroyed furniture. However, the residents managed to extinguish the fire and save the building from complete destruction. Ghazni Khel police engaged attackers in a pistol game and forced them to escape.
During the exchange of fire, Constable Yellow Rehman was wounded and moved to the District Headquarters Hospital Tajazai. District police officer Nazir Khan led the operation.
Deputy Inspector General Bannu -Region, Sajjad Khan, praised police for their courage. “The dishonest design of terrorists will never be allowed to succeed,” he promised, and continued to emphasize vigilance to protect educational institutions, life and property.
Meanwhile, the local communities called on the government to strengthen the safety of the school and warned that repeated attacks not only jeopardize children’s education, but also threaten the wider social substance in the region.
