Around 1 p.m. 18:40 one or approx. 20 minutes before kickoff, the Texans issued this message over their stadium’s public address at NRG Stadium:
“My ladies and gentlemen, we ask all families to join us for a moment of silence to honor all victims of violence and natural disasters across the country.

“It is our hope that we together condemn all forms of violence. Thanks.”
The break in the pregame program lasted 10 seconds. It was sent on ESPN.
Outkick earlier the Texans asked if they planned to have any kind of first name moment of silence for Kirk, Turning Point the US founder that was killed last week.
Texans did not want to minimize anyone

Seven other NFL teams that host home matches chosen to have such moments of silence or reflection. Five had decided not to have moments of silence mentioned Kirk.
These homemakers made their own decisions about what to do with Kirk. The NFL meanwhile decided to make a league mandated moment with silent reflection before the Green Bay Packers game at Lambeau Field.
The Texans sent an explanation to Outkick about why Kirk’s name was not mentioned.
“We kept a moment of silence to honor all victims of violence and natural disasters across the country,” the club said in a statement. “Unfortunately, there have been a number of recent tragedies, so we didn’t think it was appropriate to single out any of them and minimize the others who have taken place.”
So obviously, the Texans would argue that they approached the Kirk murder, even if you know they did not treat Kirk Murder by name.
Dallas Cowboys did it right

It should be noted that Dallas Cowboys, the second NFL club in Texas, definitely had a first name tribute to Kirk. And club owner Jerry Jones explained his thoughts on the matter afterwards.
There is a remaining NFL game left on the schedule, and it is Las Vegas Raiders who hosts Los Angeles Chargers at 1 p.m. 22
Outkick has reached the raiders to ask about their plans for a first name moment of silence – do it, don’t.
Admittedly, we did not ask Raiders if they did it without, you know, to mention Kirk hero – a hybrid approach to a tribute that the Texans devised Monday night.
