The AMAN-2025 exercise starts on February 7

ISLAMABAD:

Pakistan Navy to host ninth edition of multinational AMAN-25 exercise from February 7 to 11 involving ships, aircraft, Special Operations Forces (SOF), Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams, Marines and observers from 60 countries.

A key element of AMAN-25 will be the first AMAN Dialogue, where Chiefs of Naval Forces, Chiefs of Coast Guards and senior leaders from around the world will discuss regional maritime security and devise joint strategies to address emerging maritime threats.

According to a press release issued by the Director General of Public Relations (Navy), delegations from around the globe will also participate in the inaugural AMAN International Dialogue, which will take place alongside the exercise.

The AMAN series has been a hallmark of the Pakistan Navy’s efforts to promote regional peace and cooperation. The initial exercise was launched in 2007 and 28 countries participated. By 2023, the number of participating nations had grown to 50.

The motto of the AMAN series, “Together for Peace”, reflects its core mission, while this year’s theme, “Secure Seas; Prosperous Future”, emphasizes the importance of maritime security to global prosperity.

The AMAN exercise consists of port and sea phases. In the port phase, activities such as seminars, operational discussions, counter-terrorism demonstrations and planning of developments at sea before sailing will be held. The sea phase will include tactical maneuvers, exercises related to maritime security such as anti-piracy and counter-terrorism, search and rescue, shooting and air defense exercises. The highlight of the sea phase will be the international fleet review, which will be attended by national and foreign dignitaries. Pak Marines and Special Service Group (Navy) would demonstrate counter-terrorism capabilities during the peace exercise.
