An American woman, Onijah Andrew Robinson, caused a voting in Karachi after demanding $ 5,000 per day. Week and express his desire to become a Pakistani citizen after a failed relationship with a local man.
Robinson, 33, had traveled to Pakistan in October 2024 to marry 19-year-old Nidal Ahmed Memon after the two allegedly entered an online relationship.
But after her arrival, Memon refused under pressure from her family to marry her, leaving Robinson stranded in Karachi.
With an expired tourist visa and nowhere to live, Robinson went to Memon’s home in the garden area, only to find his family had left the house and unlocked it.
Desperate and without support, she staged a sit-in outside the home and took shelter in the building’s parking area. Her actions drew attention from residents and passers -by, which led to growing concern for security.
When the situation drew, Robinson made a striking demand and said, “You had to give me $ 5000 per week. I become a citizen of Pakistan.” She further threatened not to leave unless her requirements were met. This led to intervention from local authorities.
SDPO Clifton Faiza Sodhar later met with Robinson, who approached her concerns and transferred her to a woman’s police station for her safety and well -being.
Robinson, meanwhile, insisted on returning to the garden area where Memon had left her.
Police sources later said Memon was detained and cradled while his family had already left the house.
Previously, Robinson had also caused a delay in Karachis Jinnah International Airport after refusing to board his flight back to the United States.
Despite the help of the US Consulate and a return ticket arranged, Robinson opposed immigration distance, causing a delay of 36 minutes.
In the wake, the Sindh government and the JDC Foundation intervened, bought a return ticket to Robinson and covered her medical expenses and ensured that she could finally return to the United States after a week’s uncertainty.
