The Apple Journal is finally coming to iPad and Mac with 6 new features – and they could be the reason I change from notes

  • Apple recently announced its journal app coming to iPados 26 and MacOS Tahoe for the first time
  • There are six new features that land later in the year
  • Apple Journal’s new features are designed for both practical and creative purposes

After Apple’s recent WWDC event, it’s safe to say we’re in a wave of new and exciting features coming to iOS 26 in September, and as well as new additions such as Apple Music’s Automix, the Apple Journal is another app that gets several big upgrades.

After two years of absence, Apple finally brings the journal app to iPad and Mac, which will be available when the new iPados 26 and MacOS Tahoe updates are rolled out – which we expect at the same time as iOS 26.

The Apple Journal was introduced in 2023 as part of iOS 17.2 software update, which appeared as a pre-installed app reserved in the iPhone. But the launch of iPados 26 and MacOS Tahoe first marks that journal migrates to other Apple products.

When it comes to Apple’s original apps, I’ve never really felt the urge to experiment, especially with the Apple Journal, as I’ve been more than happy to use the Notes app for things like keeping track of my workout routine or creating a shopping list. But with the announcement of journal’s six new features, Apple encourages me to get a little more creative with the way I use its original apps to get me through my daily life.

Apple Journal receives much needs TLC
