- The collapsible iPhone is tipped to have 4: 3 -picture
- This would match iPads, secure software and app -Consistency
- We do not expect the folded iPhone to be launched before 2026
The folding iPhone leaks arrive at a fairly common pace now, which makes us think that an actual launch is coming closer -and the latest rumor is that both the internal and external screens on this device will use a 4: 3 image.
This comes from the well -known Tipster Digital Chat Station (via MacRumors) and the idea is that the software interface will be consistent between both screens, whether you have had the device open or closed.
It is also the same image ratio used by Apple iPads, including 7th-Gen-IPAD Air that was launched earlier this month. It is possible that the folding iPhone actually uses iPados due to the main display in tablet size.
According to Digital Chat Station (and Google Translate), the folded iPhone will have a software ecosystem “comparable” with iPad, so draw your own conclusions. It should definitely be able to run apps designed for Apple tablets.
What we think we know so far
Earlier this month, we heard that Apple prioritized the life of the battery on its upcoming foldable iPhone to secure as much time as possible between charges and that the device will use a liquid metal hinge to improve durability.
Other rumors have told us that the folded iPhone becomes 9.2 mm thick when folded, and 4.6 mm at the front of back as they unfold. It sounds like the device will be a bit like two iPhone 16-hand sets composed with 5.49 inches and 7.74 inches screens.
All of this is not cheap: A few weeks ago we encountered a prediction that the iPhone -folded (or whatever it will be called) will probably cost at least $ 2,300 (which is about £ 1,775 or AU $ 3,650).
You have at least some time to save up: Most people who know suggest that the folding iPhone will be launched sometime in 2026, where we may well be up to the Samsung Galaxy Fold 8 and the fourth Google Pixel folding.
