Of those, 24 critically wounded patients were lifted to Karachi on April 29 via Edhi Air ambulance for specialized treatment.
One of the victims, 38-year-old Mahmood Ahmed, died in the middle of the flight. Two Andre-Tayyab Shah and Jehanzaib-were subdued to their injuries earlier this week while being careful at a private hospital in Karachi’s Gullhan-e-Iqbal area.
Friday night and early Saturday morning, five additional victims are identified – identified as Salman (18), Wazir Ahmed (17), Dur Mohammad (26), Abdul Basit (25) and Mustafa (28) – away during treatment in two different private hospitals in the city.
All five organs have been transferred to Edhi Morgue in Sohrab Goth.
Seventeen other patients remain under treatment in private hospitals throughout Karachi, according to Edhi officials.
The explosion occurred near a truck terminal in Nushki when an oil tanker fired and exploded and injured more than 40 people. Many had gathered around the vehicle before the explosion.
Local authorities continue investigations on the cause of the fire, which reportedly originated from the tanker before triggering the explosion.
Emergency protocols were adopted in hospitals in the area after the incident, and special aircraft were sent to transport the most critically wounded to Karachi for care.
