American sports agent Leigh Steinberg has represented some of the biggest stars in football history, and now he is taking another step in his long-standing side-passion to fight one of the sport’s greatest dangers-braining.

Steinberg recently launched the Leigh Steinberg Foundation, aiming to educate parents and finance research for concussion in sports.

“It is our efforts to raise money for research to promote attention, prevention and cure, to put money aside for children who are at risk that have neurological problems or concussions that cannot get treatment and to finance research , “said Steinberg. “We have a medical samite with 10 doctors on and we collect money to try to bring more healing to this.”

Steinberg began to host panels with players to promote attention to brain health in the 1990s. On one of these panels, a performance by neuropathologist Bennet Ifeakandu Omalu, the topic of the movie “Concussion”, Steinberg is convinced of how many concussions there are too many.

Steinberg even admits he has seen some of his very own clients suffer at least three concussions, and it gave him reservations about encouraging them to continue playing afterwards.
