- The Fantastic Four: First Steps Director has responded to criticism of its visual effects
- Matt Shakman gave a polite but sudden response to fans who have reacted negatively
- Critics who have seen the Marvel movie are unanimous in their praise for his CGI
Matt Shakman has given a blunt response to anyone who has responded negatively to The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘Visual effects (VFX).
In a speech with Techradar, Marvel Movie’s director gave a polite albeit direct 10-word answers to fans who have said they are less than impressed with some aspects of the film. Of special note has its computer -generated images (CGI) and special effects that have come in for some criticism since the first trailer to First step were released in February.
First, reactions to Reed Richards’ elastic superpowers and Silver Surfer’s aesthetic, both of which were revealed in First step‘Official trailer, was mixed when the aforementioned recordings fell in April. Then there are those who initially found mistakes with what the thing looks like. Oh, and don’t let us forget how many people hit out how giganto, one of the first villains that Fantastic Four fought in the comics and who are expected to appear in First stepLooked in a * check notes * promo bonding ad for the little Caesar’s restaurant chain.
At the forefront of Marvel -Phase 6 release of the movie, I asked Shakman of his thoughts on the said criticism and about him and First step‘Hundred-strong VFX team felt weighed by it.
“I think the visual effects look beautiful in this movie,” he replied honestly.
Now, some readers may think that Shakman is avoiding the question and/or providing a stock response that releases the business line.
However, several individuals who have already seen one of the most expected new films of the year, including critics, have responded positively to VFX in the final clip. Threads on R/Marvelstudios and R/Marvelstudiospoilers seniorates are full of posts on social media from journalists praising CGI and other special effects, making it appear that the original negativity to these elements of the film was over-developed.
Okay, the reactions of the aforementioned Reddit threads are just a fraction of those who have seen the last Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie from 2025. Nevertheless is the fact that there are people coming First step‘VFX is evidence that it is not as bad as some fans feared and that it just needed a little polish and refinement before launching.
