- Apps and games are popping up for the Galaxy XR headset
- The device, aka Project Moohan, has been teased for a long time
- We finally get a grand reveal on Tuesday, October 21st
We know that the Samsung Galaxy XR headset (aka Project Moohan) will be officially unveiled to the world on October 21st – just two days away – and in preparation for the event, Android apps for it are already appearing in the Google Play Store.
As seen by SammyGuru and @WorkaholicDavid, a number of apps and games are now popping up with the “XR” label attached. This indicates that they are ready for the new Extended Reality experience that the upcoming headset will offer.
Many of the titles are similar to those you might play on headsets such as Meta Quest 3: There’s a virtual reality crazy golf experience, for example, as well as what appears to be a space shooter and an app to throw up a virtual TV screen.
Given the augmented reality categorization, it looks like the Galaxy XR headset is going to offer fully immersive virtual experiences as well as apps and games that combine digital overlays with the real world (again, like the Quest 3).

This headset has been a long time coming. Samsung and Google have been teasing it for over a year now, and since then we’ve had some official updates, plenty of leaks and rumors, and even some actual hands-on time.
In terms of pricing, we expect it to come in at a starting price of around $1,760 / £1,315 / AU$2,715, although that’s based on a conversion from a rumored price in South Korean won, so it may not be completely accurate.
Earlier this year we got more information about the Android XR software, and it’s no surprise that Gemini and AI are going to play a central role here – enabling features like live translation and quick answers to your queries about almost anything.
With some pretty decent specs expected, it could quickly become one of the best VR headsets on the market, although the current competition is tough. As soon as Samsung publishes all the details, we will of course report them here.
